Who We Are
The Majority Officers’ Union of Punjab & Sind Bank :-
We are the majority officers’ union of Punjab & Sind Bank—the All India Punjab & Sind Bank Officers’ Federation (AIPSBOF) Code 91—established on 28th September 1980 in Patiala, Punjab. Representing approximately 70% of the officer class within the bank, we are committed to vigorously defending the rights and interests of our members. Our dedication extends beyond advocacy; we actively contribute to the growth and development of Punjab & Sind Bank, ensuring that the officer class plays a central role in the bank's progress and success.
Our History
All India Punjab & Sind Bank Officers’ Federation (AIPSBOF) :-
Around 44 years ago, on 28th September 1980, the officer class of Punjab & Sind Bank made a bold and historic stand for justice. Over 1,500 officers and observers from every corner of India assembled in Patiala, Punjab, unified by one powerful mission: to break free from the oppressive grip of the bank's management and reclaim their rightful dignity. It was on this momentous day that the All India Punjab & Sind Bank Officers’ Federation (AIPSBOF) was born.
The atmosphere was charged with determination. This wasn’t merely a gathering—it was a decisive turning point. For far too long, the officers had been crushed under the weight of unjust practices. But that day, they reached their breaking point. With courage and conviction, they rose to challenge the autocratic rule that sought to stifle their rights and their voices.
However, their fight for justice was met with fierce resistance. The management of Punjab & Sind Bank retaliated with brutal measures, relentlessly targeting activists and office bearers in a desperate attempt to silence the movement. But their efforts to crush the officers' spirit were in vain.
They refused to be defeated :-
Even in the face of relentless pressure and victimization, the officers stood their ground. They brought to light widespread financial mismanagement at the highest levels, exposing the deep-rooted corruption to Parliament and government agencies. Their courageous actions sparked a critical turning point—the removal of the then CMD of Punjab & Sind Bank. This triumph was more than just the removal of then CMD of Punjab & Sind Bank; rather, it was the moment the management was forced to acknowledge that the institution could no longer operate under the tyranny of unchecked power.
The foundation of cooperation between the Officers’ Federation and the management was laid, and it became clear that systems and procedures, not authoritarianism, would govern Punjab & Sind Bank. The officer class had rightfully earned its place at the negotiating table, and from that victory emerged a series of groundbreaking policies for transfers, promotions, and welfare—many of which still shape the bank's operations today.
A Legacy Of Defiance and Victory :-
The Officers’ Federation proudly honors the brave members, activists, and leaders whose grit and resolve forced the management to respect the rights and dignity of the officer class. They refused to bow to oppression, and because of their courage and determination, we now stand on the solid ground of justice. This victory serves as an enduring reminder of what can be accomplished when we stand united, refusing to back down in the face of adversity.
A Future Built on Strength :-
Today, a new generation of officers—many of whom joined after 2010—carries forward this powerful legacy. These young leaders are fiercely committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of their colleagues, while driving the growth and success of this prestigious institution. They recognize that the future belongs to those with the courage to lead and the conviction to act.
As we look back over the past 44 years, we extend our deepest gratitude to every individual who contributed to this movement. Your courage, commitment, and resilience have not only shaped the history of AIPSBOF, but also cemented an unbreakable truth:
No force is stronger than a united officer class :-
